Information Text on Security Cameras Within the Company

This information text has been prepared by GÜNERİ MAKİNA SAN. VE TİC. A.Ş. (“Company”) in its capacity as data controller, pursuant to Article 10 of the Law on the Protection of Personal Data No. 6698 (“Law”) and the Communiqué on the Principles and Procedures to be Followed in Fulfilling the Obligation to Inform.

In carrying out surveillance activities by means of cameras for security purposes, the Company acts in compliance with the provisions of the Law. For the purpose of ensuring the security of its buildings and facilities, the Company conducts surveillance activities with security cameras in accordance with the objectives set forth in the applicable legislation and the conditions for personal data processing specified in the Law.

The purpose of the Company’s surveillance activities with security cameras is to ensure internal security. In this context, the areas under surveillance, the number of cameras, and the periods of monitoring are implemented in a manner sufficient for and limited to achieving this purpose. Surveillance is not conducted in areas where such monitoring would result in interference with personal privacy beyond security purposes (e.g., restrooms).

Within our Company’s production building, a total of 43 security cameras are used to record images. These records are retained for  30 days. No one other than the designated unit has access to these records, and unless requested by judicial authorities or law enforcement, they are not shared with any individual or institution, and they are destroyed after the specified retention period.

These personal data are processed automatically on the legal grounds that “it is mandatory for the data controller to fulfill its legal obligation” and “data processing is mandatory for the legitimate interests of the data controller, provided that it does not harm the fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject,” as set forth in Article 5 of the Law. Once these legal grounds no longer exist, your personal data will be destroyed in accordance with the relevant legislation.

These personal data may be transferred to judicial authorities or relevant law enforcement agencies in order to resolve legal disputes or when required under the applicable legislation.

You may submit all your requests within the scope of Article 11 of the Law, which regulates the rights of the data subject, to the Company address in accordance with the “Communiqué on the Principles and Procedures for the Application to the Data Controller.”
